What type of material is used in the Smooth Line hardtop shell?
All Smooth Line hardtop shells are a high-tech fiberglass composite carefully molded and trimmed to exacting tolerances to insure a perfect fit on your vehicle. What is involved when initially installing the Smooth Line Hardtop?
All of the hardtops come with all the rubber gaskets, moldings and latching hardware. There is nothing extra to buy. There is no modification to the vehicle except for minor changes to a few of the classic tops. The convertible top stays in the car except for one of the Classic tops. In general, it may be necessary to install two brackets for the rear latch points (no hole drilling). From that point it is a matter of lifting the Hardtop on the car and latching it down. Adjustments sometimes are necessary and are covered in the provided instructions. We recommend that you become familiar with the details of the installation but have a competent body man fit it properly to the vehicle. It is not difficult and should take 2-3 hours at the shop (money well spent). Smooth Line Technicians are available to answer any questions. Once it is fitted, it can be painted and then the rubber seals and trim moldings can be applied. For specific details, see the instructions on the hardtop you are interested in located on that specific hardtop webpage.

Also available are hardtop carriers and hardtop hoists to make it even easier and protect the hardtop when off the car.

How is payment handled?

What do I do with the hardtop when it is not on my car?
It is important to store the hardtop so that it is safe and it not subject to damaging the painted finish or the rubber moldings. A Smooth Line hardtop cart / cover is a great solution for use in the garage or any other storage area. This allows the hardtop to be conveniently wheeled away in the padded cradle and protected from scratches and dust when covered. It is then ready to wheel to your car at any time. A Smooth Line hardtop hoist is another solution. The hardtop can be hoisted out of the way in your garage and can be lowered down when you are ready to use it.
